Completed university project

Digital Power Meter

Measuring power in real time.

Embedded real-power measurement, with live readings sent to a Python dashboard.

System overview: Electrical measurement to ATmega328P firmware to Interrupt-driven UART to Python dashboard.

01 / THE PROBLEM

The problem.

A useful power meter needs accurate measurement and reliable communication at the same time. Capturing signals and updating a dashboard cannot get in each other’s way.

02 / MY CONTRIBUTION

What I worked on.

  1. 01

Authored the team’s embedded C firmware on the ATmega328P.

  2. 02

Implemented the real-power measurement and interrupt-driven UART communication.

  3. 03

Connected the firmware to a Python dashboard so measurements could be inspected in real time.

03 / PROGRESS & RESULTS

Where it stands.

We received a Grade 7, or High Distinction, for ENGG2800 in 2026. I wrote the embedded firmware and connected the meter to the Python dashboard.
